'RACE TO RIO' TRIALS
Attending the Olympic Trials on the weekend was such a great experience. To see the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre transformed for the trials and the priceless faces of the swimmers who have qualified for the opportunity to compete at the Olympics later in the year was priceless. I also attended a clinic hosted by Olympians Petria Thomas and Glenn Beringen and enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with some of Adelaide’s elite coaches on pool deck. Elijah competed in a regional relay event at the Finals on Saturday night and then a JX Bronze clinic on Sunday with Dan Kowalski and Pat Murphy. We even got to chat with Dawn Fraser who spoke to us of her visit to Mount Gambier once and the famous ‘Blue Lake’

Congratulations to all of our swimmers who have represented each of their schools at the South East Interschool Carnival. Well done to Tyler and Zac—Tenison Woods, Toneya and Caitlin—Mount Gambier High School and Nikeisha—Combined schools) who all swam really well and came home with ribbons. What a great effort!

We have been fortunate enough to receive a $500 grant as part of our affiliation with the Barwon South West District region.
